Little Fig Stage, Inc. was founded by Marci Elyn Schein and Michael Ficocelli. This is a theatre company dedicated to the development and performance of original plays and musicals as well as the development of performers of all ages. In addition to their work on original musicals, Marci and Michael have directed over 50 classic musicals some of which include: Fiddler on the Roof, High School Musical, Seussical, and Annie. They've worked with casts of all ages from novices through professionals.
Marci is a performer in jazz and classical vocal music and all disciplines of musical theatre, as well as a producer, director and vocal coach. Most recently, Marci was asked to sing the songs of Phillip Spring for a short run of his Jazz, Theatre and Pop songs at Abingdon Theatre in NYC. Multiple times, she has entertained an audience of 14,000 at Tavern on the Green for the NYC Marathon pasta dinner. Marci has been featured on various CDs including HOT MAMAS LIVE , HOMEWARD BOUND, (musical by "Santa Baby" composer Philip Springer, and THE HOPELESS ROMANTIC COLLECTION CD featuring the songs of Michael Ficocelli. Marci starred Off Broadway and regionally and shared the stage with J. Mark McVey, Loni Ackerman, Joe Kolinsky, Bruce Sabbath and more. Regionally, she has performed in such show as FOOTLOOSE, THE KING AND I, COMPANY, SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM and others. She performed her Cabaret show in Atlantic City, Foxwoods Resorts and numerous venues along the east coast. Marci has taught music in public and private schools as well as conducted adult and children’s choirs. She holds a Bachelor of Music in voice (classical and jazz) and theatre and continues to study.
MARCI ELYN SCHEIN
After graduating from Boston University, Michael has been composing music for theaters, schools, choruses, film, etc. His compositions include the musicals WILD IMAGININGS, THE FALL OF FREDDIE THE LEAF, BROTHERS IGNITE, ISAAC’S WINDOW, FROM DEATH TO HOPE, SO BIG, and the award-winning BUILDING A WING, which took first place at the Short Sweet & Song Festival 2007 in Sydney, Australia. He has also scored the documentary film, JEWISH AMERICA: THE CIVIL WAR. He has been the recipient of the ASCAP AWARDS PANEL since 1996. Michael was a four year member of the BMI-LEHMAN ENGEL MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP as a composer/lyricist. He is also a professional performer/cabaret artist who as performed in Atlantic City and Foxwoods Casino and other venues along the East Coast. Michael is also a professional music educator presently employed by the Glen Rock Public Schools, New Jersey.
MICHAEL V. FICOCELLI
Dr. Samara Lisa Grossman is the producing artistic director of the Children and Teen Production Companies at JCC MetroWest. She is also a freelance director/choreographer throughout the NYC area having worked on shows off-Broadway, universities, and community theaters and schools. In addition to shows, Samara works with students of all ages in acting, dance, comedy, puppetry and more. In 2018, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, “Children and Art”: Stephen Sondheim’s Influence on the Current Prolific Generation of Broadway Composer/Lyricists. She is now a Doctor of Letters in Literary Studies from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. She also holds a Masters from Kean University in Liberal Studies. Her thesis title: Using Drama to Teach the Holocaust.
